Terms of use & disclaimer
Please read these terms before using the Live Compound Interest Calculator.
Educational use only. Not financial advice. The Live Compound Interest Calculator is a learning tool that illustrates how compound growth works. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and it does not recommend any investment, strategy, or product.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By using the Live Compound Interest Calculator (the “Service”), you agree to these terms of use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. Educational purpose only
The Service is provided for general educational and illustrative purposes. Any information, calculation, chart, scenario, or projection it displays:
- is not personalized to your financial situation, goals, or risk tolerance;
- is not an offer, solicitation, or recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or financial product; and
- does not create an adviser, fiduciary, broker, or professional relationship of any kind.
3. Hypothetical projections, no guarantees
All results are hypothetical and based solely on the assumptions you enter, such as a fixed annual return, a compounding frequency, optional monthly contributions, and one-time contributions. They do not represent actual investment results and are not a prediction or guarantee of future performance.
Real investments fluctuate in value and can lose money, including your original principal. Results shown by the Service do not account for taxes, fees, market volatility, or the timing of real deposits and withdrawals, any of which can significantly change outcomes. The optional “today’s dollars” view uses a fixed, assumed inflation rate of about 2.5% per year; it is an illustration, not a forecast, and actual inflation will differ. The live, second-by-second display is a visualization only and does not reflect real earnings. Past performance does not guarantee future results.
4. Consult a qualified professional
Before making any financial decision, consider consulting a qualified, licensed professional, such as a financial adviser, tax professional, or attorney, who can account for your individual circumstances. You are solely responsible for any decisions you make, and you should not rely on the Service as the basis for them.
5. Accuracy and availability
We aim for the calculations to be correct, but the Service may contain errors, rounding differences, or limitations. Calculations use standard computer floating-point arithmetic and amounts are shown in US dollars. The Service may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued at any time without notice.
6. Your saved clock
No account is required. To restore your clock, your applied settings and clock timing are stored on our server and linked to your browser by an anonymous cookie. Clearing cookies or switching browsers starts a separate clock, and using Reset deletes your saved plan. Please do not enter sensitive personal or account information into the Service.
7. No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the creators and operators of the Service are not liable for any losses or damages, whether direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential, arising from your use of, or reliance on, the Service or its projections.
9. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the Service, interfere with its operation, attempt to access it by automated means at harmful volumes, or present its projections to others as professional advice or guaranteed results.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last revised. Continuing to use the Service after changes means you accept the updated terms.
